I was a boy bom in a poor area in my city

I was a boy bom in a poor area in my city. One disadvantage is that I do not have real teachers at school. So who teach us? Volunteers. They’ re usually English graduates in their early twenties who want to receive a higher education. Volunteering in such a school can help their resumes(简历)look better.

But we don’ t want such “teachers”. We want real teachers.

When such a “teacher” comes to our school, she usually doesn' t know what to do. She has no teaching experience and she has to learn how to teach. We need teachers who have rich teaching experience. We don' t want someone who doesn' t know what she' s doing in class.

Volunteers usually don' t teach for a long time period. When one comes, she usually teaches for about two months. Then she ’ 11 leave and another one will come. I don' t think we can learn much if we often have new teachers. As soon as we get used to a volunteer' s teaching, she' s leaving. And then a new volunteer will come and we’ve to try to get used to her teaching again. It goes on and on. And we’ ve really got tired of it.

Many volunteers just come for fun. They consider it to be a way of spending a vacation. They post photos on the Internet and share their experiences with their friends. But what we want is to learn. Do they really care about what we really want?

Of course, some volunteers really want to teach well and they care about us. But the problem is that they are not our real teachers and they don' t stay long. After they leave, we may have a new volunteer who doesn' t know how to teach. It’s really frustrating.

I fully understand that our nation is now facing an extreme shortage of teachers and that we all have to make do with what we can get. But I do hope we ’ ’l have real teachers in my school. We need real teachers.

They’reusuallyEnglishgraduatesintheirearlytwentieswhowanttoreceiveahigher
education.”
Assoonaswegetusedtoavolunteer’steaching,she’sleaving.Andthenanew
volunteerwillcomeandwe’vetotrytogetusedtoherteachingagain.”
